What is on your top of mind when you read the title? This is one of the
episodes in Spotify podcast. This topic discusses how we can keep our online
accounts from getting hacked. Yes, this is about “Online Security”. Our online
identity is very urgent to be protected right now.
Thomas Frank as a speaker shared some simple tips. The tips are actually not a new thing for us. He just reminds us of some easy techniques that we often ignore.
Password
Although some of us often hear about using a different password for our account, we keep ignoring that. We used to use the same password because we can not memorize all of our different passwords. The solution is to use Password Manager application. The application can help you creating a random password and saving it. But, the speaker suggested not to use the app for our main password, such as financial password, email, etc. The app is just used for the less important account. So we have to memorize 2-3 account password by our own self.
Two Factor Authentication System
Every good application usually provides Two Factor Authentication System feature. Financial Services Industry even requires their customer to use Two Factor Authentication System for any transaction. Some of us are too lazy using it. We can use it not on all of our account, but just for some most important account.
Encryption
The storage system is always improved by technopreneur. Offline storage like flash disk, hard disk, etc has shifted to online storage like Google Drive, iCloud, etc. Basically, Google Drive and iCloud have an insane security system. However, the shifting enforces us to intensify our data security. For substantial data, we must protect it by encryption code. Encryption code feature is usually embedded in today’s application.
